Questions

Frequently asked questions

What can counselling help with?

Counselling can support you with many of life's challenges — including anxiety, stress, low mood, grief, trauma, burnout, major life changes and relationship difficulties. If you're unsure whether counselling is right for your situation, you're welcome to get in touch and ask.

Do you offer online counselling?

Yes. Sessions are available both in person in Edenvale and online, so you can choose whichever feels more comfortable and convenient for you.

Do you work with both individuals and couples?

Yes. The practice offers individual counselling as well as couples counselling, and also runs structured couples workshops.

What happens during the first session?

The first session is a chance to talk about what has brought you to counselling and what you're hoping for. There's no pressure — it's simply a starting point to understand your situation and how best to support you.

Is counselling confidential?

Yes. What you share is treated as confidential, within the recognised professional and ethical guidelines that registered psychologists work under. Any limits to confidentiality can be explained to you directly.

Can faith be included in counselling?

If you'd like it to be. Christian counselling is available for clients who want to include their faith and spiritual questions in the process. It's entirely optional and never assumed.

How do I ask about a couples workshop?

Simply get in touch and ask about upcoming workshop dates. Workshops are held in selected Johannesburg locations and online, and booking is essential as places are limited.

How do I book a session?

You can call, send a WhatsApp message, or email the practice, and we'll arrange a suitable time together. Taking that first step is often all it takes to get started.
